Jana Apltauerová, Lipoltice honey [ Regionální výrobce nebo produkt ]

Jana Apltauerová, Lipoltický med

Jana Apltauerová has been beekeeping since her childhood. Her grandfather was a passionate beekeeper. Jana was involved in the care of bees from an early age, especially when she was always collecting honey. She likes to remember the times spent with her grandmother and the old crank honey dispenser when dialling honey was quite a lot of work. She also helped her grandfather with the sale of honey at the markets in Pardubice. When grandfather died in 1999, they had to sell the bees. There was no one to take care of them at that time. It was hard and sad.

Little did Jana know that she would find her grandfather's capable successor in her husband. In 2003, they started beekeeping together in the garden of their parents in town Kruh u Jilemnice, because at that time they lived in Prague. Weekend beekeeping was not always easy, so when they moved to Lipoltice in 2008, they moved their bee colonies to their surroundings.

Working with bees is fulfilling. Their hard work never ceases to fascinate Jana. How many flowers must the bees visit before they bring a kilogram of honey? Nothing compares to its aroma when Jana dials it and eagerly looks forward to its taste, which changes from year to year. Their bees produce excellent flower honey and, depending on the weather and clutch conditions, honeydew honey (more commonly known as forest honey).

In 2013, Jana Apltauerová received the Iron Mountains regional product certificate for her honey from Lipoltice.

During the time of family beekeeping (they are already celebrating 20 years since the acquisition of the first colonies of bees), they have acquired many satisfied customers who buy honey directly from the yard, at local markets and, from this year, also at the U Rusalky store in Heřmanův Městec.
