Protected landscape area Blanský les [ Protected Landscape Area ]
A large part of this area is covered with beech forests. Its diversity is supplemented by small islands of relict pine woods on serpentine soils and thermophilous communities on crystalline limestone. Still numerous historical buildings and folk architecture can be found in the area. Among the most important buildings are the monastery complex of Zlatá Koruna, the ruins of the Rosenbergs’ Dívčí kámen Castle and the Celtic oppidum nearby Třísov.
